Today is May the Fifth, Cinco de Mayo.  A great holiday that is usually enjoyed throughout all of North America.  From all of us here at EastCoastAirsoft, we hope you had a great day and enjoyed the 2012 Cinco de Mayo the fullest.  Remember, 2012 is a special year, so every holiday is extra special as well, so cherish it!

Hey guys!  The Soft Opening Party for the EastCoastAirsoft store was a true success, with lots of people turning out and having a great time.  The reception to the store has been very positive, and new items are being added frequently.  Just yesterday some hot airsoft pistols arrived, so be sure to check out the store if you live in the Bel Air area and give these new items a fair look.  There will be more news related to the store’s opening in the near future, so be sure to stay updated!

One of my favorite types of guns is the noble Steyr Aug.  It has such an interesting shape and is remarkably fast.  I remember using it in an old game I used to play called “Soldat”, and that fine piece of programming-crafted functional art definitely got the job done.  To be honest, my weapon of choice was the AK-74 (that’s not a typo, the AK-74 is an upgraded version of the AK-47), but sometimes I switched to the Aug for its extra speed.

The ASG Steyr Aug A1 definitely lives up to the legacy of this fine piece.  It sports a maximum range of 200 feet with an FPS rate of 420FPS, with a 330round high-capacity magazine and adjustable hop-up.  These kinds of specs are the standard for high quality AEGs, but this Aug is priced a little cheaper than most.  You are getting the same quality and power, for a lower price!  This is because Steyrs are not as popular as traditional M16s or M4s, so the price is not as high.

It’s also important to realize how the simple design of the Steyr Aug benefits  airsoft players.  It is truly the perfect weapon, as its shape allows for much better balance (and thus higher accuracy), faster reloading, and switching between long-range and CQB combat.  In the airsoft world, this is all you could ask for, and these are also benefits which are very useful in real combat.  However, real guns with the “bullpup” design are problematic because the shells often eject straight into the shooter’s face, or even blow up.  Since this is impossible with airsoft guns, all that remains with the bullpup design are the benefits, and not the drawbacks.  So consider purchasing this unordinary rifle as your next main AEG, because sometimes taking the path less traveled by carries the greatest rewards.

The Soft Opening Party for the EastCoastAirsoft Store is on April 28th, which means this Saturday!  It is taking place at 1318 Churchville Road, Bel Air, MD 21014, the official location of the store.  There will be free food, games, sales, and giveaways!  Even if you do not want to buy anything, you have nothing to lose by entering the giveaway.  In any case, it’s going to be a lot of fun, and you will surely miss out on one of the greatest Saturdays of all time if you don’t attend.

Earth Day is a time to celebrate the planet and all the beauty that it bestows upon us.  One of the ways in which our airsoft community utilizes this gift is by playing on the land, such as in forests, fields, swamps, seas, highlands, lowlands, and midlands.  We must protect the world so we can continue to survive and thrive on it, so make sure to pick up as many of your pellets as you can (I know it’s hard!) or use biodegradable ammunition.  Happy Earth Day!

The opening of the EastCoastAirsoft store is resulting in benefits already!  For one, inventory has been moved from our ad hoc residential storage facility (Matt’s house) to the new location, freeing up a lot of space for general living activities.  This also enables quicker fulfillment of both online orders and purchases directly from the store.  In addition, this news has also led to more sales in our key service area, Maryland, which is always a good thing.  We are working diligently towards increasing our total United States sales, and there’s no doubt that recent developments will help us achieve that.  More importantly, it will allow us to bring you better service and wider selection, so get excited, because the future looks bright for all of us!

I was going to post about something different today, but then this product caught my eye and I just couldn’t ignore it.  The HK G36CV Carbine Blowback is an extremely sleek AEG with a wide variety of features and a lot of power.  The appearance alone makes this a gun worth having, but more importantly, it has the specifications to match up with the most premium airsoft guns on the market.

Hey all!  I am excited to announce that there will be a “soft opening party” for the new EastCoastAirsoft store!  You can find the full details about this party at the following Facebook link.  It is going to be a lot of fun, but more importantly, there will be several giveaways, along with free food and many colorful people.  From the Facebook event page, I already see that a lot of people I knew years ago may be coming, and that is exciting.  This is going to be awesome!!

We officially have the keys to a storefront, and things are going to start picking up from this day on.  It’s amazing to look back and see how far this company has come.  Technically everything started with just drop shipping items, then progressed to stocking our own items and selling over the Internet, until finally a brick-and-mortar store was acquired.  I’ve always thought there were painfully too few airsoft retailers out there, so it’s great to fill this need and serve people in the personal manner they deserve.  Can’t wait!
