The Wooden M14 Soc16 by Echo1

It seems that M14s do not get as much love as other variants of airsoft rifles.  In keeping up with my M14 theme of the past day, I would like to talk about the Echo1 M14 Soc16. This product only costs $180, but it is quite powerful and can shoot at around 350FPS. That is really good for an airsoft gun of this price, and in addition to that feature, there is a high capacity magazine included in the package, as well as other needed accessories.

M14s have a wide range of applications. They can be used well in close-quarters combat, but you can also use them on a large field. Due to this dual nature, you can get a lot more out of this gun than you could with most other rifles, which usually can only be used well for one thing.

M14 Variants

Here at EastCoastAirsoft we stock a wide line of M14 Variants that are available for purchase.  M14s are classic rifles that were used a lot during Vietnam, although in 1970 they started to fall out of line once the M16 was introduced.  Admittedly, that is a much better rifle, which is why I stressed the “classic” earlier.  If you want something for historical purposes, this is the gun for you.

However, that is not to say the M14 is not effective in airsoft.  Since airsoft guns are different than real guns (makes sense), even though a real life counterpart might be better, they could be equal on airsoft grounds.  There are some M16 replicas that are not as good as M14s, but since Classic Army makes the majority of M16s on the market, they are better than M14s simply because of the brand they are coming from.

It’s Getting Warmer…

Hey all you airsofters out there, this is ECA reminding you that it is starting to actually get warm outside.  It had been cold for what seemed like an entire season, and now our section of the Earth is finally heating up again.  There are many benefits to this.  The first is that when you go outside, it does not feel uncomfortable, and you can really enjoy being outdoors.  Part of the outdoors is playing airsoft.  I know that I will be able to get in a lot more airsoft playing time now that it is so hot.  I know some people like winter games, and I did indeed play one of those that was good, but nothing beats a spring/summer game.

Back from San Francisco!

Hello, sorry for the lapse in blog postings, but I was too busy in San Francisco to even get to a computer!  It’s great to be back and working again, and I look forward to reviewing even more products and writing more articles than ever before.  Thanks for reading and staying updated with this blog, everybody!

Hello from San Francisco!

Hello, this is Justin and I am writing to you from San Francisco!  It is great here, I am really having a good time.  But I’m not just making this post to brag about my extremely awesome location.  No, it is to say that, if this area were totally empty and devoid of personal and business property, it would make a great place to have an urban airsoft game.  The buildings are spaced perfectly together so you can run through alleys, and there is a perfect mix of open space and solid cover.  I would love to play airsoft in these streets, but if I tried to, I would have an unfortunate encounter with the law, and would be unable to serve EastCoastAirsoft customers anymore.  We can’t have that, now.

The Jing Gong G36C

If you have never checked out the JG G36C yet, you definitely should.  It is a very affordable, yet respectably high quality rifle that can fire at over 330FPS up to an accuracy of 120 feet.  That is pretty good for a gun that costs only $150, when there are many rifles that are $300 and have almost the same specifications.  The real difference is durability; more expensive rifles are definitely more durable, but as for battle specs, sometimes cheaper guns can come out on top.

How Often Do You Play Airsoft?

If you are wondering why you are stuck at a certain skill level in the game of airsoft, you need to ask yourself only one question: “How often do I play airsoft?”  It is impossible to get better at anything if you do not engage in the activity on a frequent basis.  This goes for intellectual pursuits as well, and in some ways, airsoft is a mixture of both smarts and physical prowess.  Because of this, you have to work extra hard in learning the game.

It is not that hard to play often.  Even if you cannot get a lot of people together, it is usually possible to find at least one person who is ready to play.  As long as you have an area around that you can play at, it is not hard at all.  However, if you have to drive a long ways in order to play, then it can be a little difficult to play often.  Therefore, you should try hard to find a place to get some practice in!

Taking the Time to Look Around

It is very important when shopping for airsoft guns (or anything, really) to look around for awhile before making your final decision.  I can think of countless cases (maybe not countless, but at least two) in which someone bought a gun and then a few days later was browsing around and found something better.  In order to avoid this kind of disappointment, it is much better to take the time to shop around.

A good idea is to go through many of the categories that are available.  Here at this website, we have many sections for all kinds of airsoft rifles.  Therefore, even if you come into it thinking you want one kind of rifle, it may be better to get another.

You can usually make good decisions based on instinct, but by combining instinct with research, you can make the perfect decision that you will be happy with for a long time to come.  That’s a lot better than having regrets, right?

Getting Your Airsoft Gun Repaired

If your airsoft gun has broken for one reason or another, you may want to repair it.  By taking this course of action, you can save money on buying a new gun, and you can continue to use the same product that you may have developed a personal relationship with.  I know some people think it is kind of odd to have a connection to an inanimate object, but when you really think about it, a lot of others do it and it is perfectly natural.

In order to get your gun repaired, you can send it back to the manufacturer, and they may repair it for you if it is still under warranty.  Otherwise, you can take it to an airsoft shop, and depending on the nature of the damage, they may be able to fix it for you.

Sometimes it is not worth it to have your gun fixed.  This is especially the case with cheap guns, or maybe an airsoft gun that you have had for many years.  When these kinds of guns break, it is often just better to buy a new one, rather than continue its lifespan.

How Much to Pay for an Airsoft Rifle

If you are in the market for a new airsoft rifle, one of the pertinent questions that is going to arise is how much you should pay.  In short, you should pay whatever the price is listed as on this website, ha ha… But seriously, we do not take it offensively if you want to shop around.  That is what a smart consumer should do, and although we have great prices on hundreds of products, we can’t possibly beat our competitors on everything.

By checking a variety of airsoft retailers, you will eventually land on one that has a lower price than another.  There are some exceptions to this rule, however.  Some products, like Classic Army rifles, have a minimum price that retailers can charge for the products, as this eliminates all kinds of price differentiation marketing.  At EastCoastAirsoft, all products that have a minimum advertised price (MAP), we charge at that price.  Therefore, you will never find a site that charges a lower price, and if you do, then they are not playing by the rules, and they could lose their contract with the company.

Also, keep in mind that some of what goes into price covers other expenses of the company.  If you pay more for an item, you are probably going to get it faster and with better customer service.  Because of our company size, we can afford to charge lower prices while delivering superb service, so you do not have to settle for anything.
