Varieties of Airsoft Rifles

There are several types of airsoft rifles, each with their own unique characteristics and abilities. Although some varieties can be classified as superior to others, they all function well and can be played in any airsoft game.

Before making a purchasing decision, it is best to be familiarized with the types so you can make the optimal choice. It may be tempting to rush in to buying, but you will thank yourself later if you take your time.

Low-Priced Electric Guns (LPEGs) are airsoft rifles usually ranging between thirty and one hundred dollars. Many LPEGs are replicas of guns like the AK47 and MP5. Despite the price, they are still fairly durable and powerful.

Mid-Priced Electric Guns (MPEGs) are somewhat stronger than LPEGs, and thus more expensive. They typically range from between one hundred and two hundred dollars. These packages come with more free add-ons and the guns themselves are of superior quality.

Full on automatic electric guns (AEGs) are the best kind, as they are full metal and have extremely high firing rates. Brands such as Classic Army and Tokyo Marui focus on AEGs. For the serious airsoft player, owning an AEG is a must.

Gas rifles do not utilize electricity, but instead use green gas or CO2 as the method of propulsion. These airsoft guns can reach firing powers greater than electric guns simply because they use gas. However, they are not as wieldy, so there is a trade-off in handling for power.

Spring rifles are the weakest type, but they are also the cheapest. The only exception is sniper rifles, which are incredibly strong and sometimes more expensive than AEGs. For a new airsoft player, a spring rifle is a wise choice.

As elaborated upon, the wide variety of options available makes the possibility of finding the perfect airsoft gun quite high. With so many types and individual choices, one can spend hours finding a model that meets their exact requirements.
