Purchasing a barrel extension is a great way to upgrade your airsoft gun and make it both more accurate and powerful.  This is because the extension increases the distance that the pellets travel before leaving the barrel, and this allows the trajectory to become more precise.  You do not want to get a barrel that is too long, but most of the ones that are available for purchase are a reasonable size.

As if that were not enough, the barrels are simply a higher quality than what you have with stock. There is often a better design and form that further enhances your power, and since that is combined with the improved distance you can see why this is such a great deal.

You also have to keep in mind that other people could have these as well.  If you want to be on the same level as them, you need to stay up with what techniques they are using.  That might mean getting a better barrel.

Not all airsoft guns are compatible with barrel extensions, especially the entire class of airsoft pistols.  Also, if you happen to own a pretty cheap airsoft rifle, it is unlikely that there are extensions on the market which are compatible with that item.  In other words, it is only worth it to try to find a barrel extension if you know you have an airsoft gun which will work with it.
