Airsoft Training

Undergoing training designed especially for airsoft is one of the best ways to improve your skills.  Basically you need two things to be a good airsoft player: Dexterity and endurance.  With the former you can maneuver quickly and stay out of the line of fire of opponents, and endurance allows you to keep that up while efficiently returning fire.

This is easier said than done.  Even when moving quickly around for just a minute, one can become tired.  You really do need to train if you want to overcome this obstacle, as doing so will give you a significant advantage in battle.

Airsoft Tip #20 - Customized Airsoft Guns

One of the best ways you can distinguish yourself is by having a customized airsoft gun.  Not only do these look quite different from regular products, but they are often more effective.  When you customize something for your own personal use, it will work better than something designed for the masses.

When you combine your own personal skill with an airsoft gun of your own creation, you are able to surpass your sporting limits, and become one of the greatest assets on your team.  It’s quite possible to reach a higher level of effectiveness and power by utilizing this tip, as long as you have the ability to back up your power.

Airsoft Tip #19 - Keep Reading this Blog!

If you haven’t noticed yet, I post a lot of somewhat helpful stuff on this blog.  Even the posts not categorized under airsoft tips can be useful.  Therefore, I think this is something you should keep up with, because although not everything will be applicable, some of it definitely will!

Airsoft Tip #18 - Getting the Right Sniper Scope

Surprisingly, most airsoft sniper rifles do not come with scopes.  This is odd, considering a sniper rifle really is not what it is without a scope.  I’ve never understood the reason behind this, but it’s either because the manufacturers are cheap or they want you to be able to use whatever scope you want.  Whatever the reason, you have to pick what you want, because most of the time, that’s your only option.

To get the right scope, you should read reviews of what other people have purchased for the specific rifle that you have.  That way, you can know which kind is the most effective, and then buy that one.

Airsoft Tip #17 - Play in a New Area

If you have a regular spot that you usually play airsoft in, you should try to find another spot to play in, at least once in awhile.  By exposing yourself to different terrains, you not only increase your skill set, but you increase the excitement of the game.  When you play in in the same place over and over again, the principle of decreasing marginal benefit kicks in, and it gets progressively less exciting.  Therefore, by traveling somewhere else, you can regain a lot of fun and have a really great time.

Airsoft Tip #16 - More FPS Is Not Always Better

I admit that sometimes I make FPS seem like the center statistic of an airsoft gun, and while the FPS rate is definitely important, it is not the only measure of performance for an airsoft gun.  In addition, sometimes having more FPS is not a good thing.  This is especially true of short range guns, but long range guns that go too fast can sometimes curve off course.  What really matters is the distance up to which a gun is accurate, because in the end, it is accuracy that is critical, not the FPS rate.

Special Tip - The Importance of Others’ Experiences

In the game of airsoft and of life, it is integral to know the experiences of other people.  While you cannot directly know them, you can learn about what other people have done, and then use their experience to your advantage.  You do not have to start from square one; by utilizing what others have done, you can make leaps and bounds ahead of what you would attain if you did not take this route.  You can learn about others by reading the EastCoastAirsoft forum or other forums on the Internet.  In addition, you can get a lot of information from talking to friends.

Airsoft Tip #15 - Don’t Underestimate Pistols

Although most people use airsoft rifles, do not underestimate those who stand up to them with certain kinds of pistols. While some airsoft pistols are weak and do not stand a chance, other types (mainly gas pistols) can overpower a medium-powered electric gun. Be prepared if you see someone using a gas pistol, because they probably know what they are doing.

Airsoft Tip #14 - Get to Work Now

It seems that many people make New Year’s Resolutions that they do not follow through with, or do not stick with for very long.  First and foremost, you have to get to work now in achieving your resolution.  Maybe the Resolution does relate to airsoft, but no matter what it is, you have to start now and do not stop until it is complete.  I hate to use a corporate entity as an example, but like Nike, JUST DO IT!

Airsoft Tip #13 - The Importance of Pistols

It is extremely important that you have a pistol in airsoft, along with your rifle.  This is because it is all too easy for you to run out of ammunition with your primary weapon, but be in a position where you are unable to reload.  In a case like this, having a backup sidearm that you can easily pull out is comforting, and you will be happy you have it when you need it.
