One of the most fascinating airsoft strategies I’ve ever come across is the strategy of dual-wielding airsoft pistols. It is an interesting tactic, as it allows you to fire in two places at once or one place with twice the firepower. Of course, pistols are inherently weaker than rifles, and unless you have two strong gas pistols, an inexperienced wielder can easily be overwhelmed. I was just wondering how many readers we have here who do this. I imagine the number is quite small, but I’d like to know. Email me at justin@eastcoastairsoft.com and if I get enough emails I’ll report a tally some time in the next week.

Today is February 1st, yet another new month in the saga of human history. It is going to prove to be a remarkable month no doubt, and I highly urge you to get as much airsoft in as possible. If you are on the East Coast, you’ve probably felt how amazingly warm the weather has been, despite that we’re in the dead center of winter. It was 70 degrees today! We must take advantage of such fortune, by appreciating it and being outside as much as possible.

It always makes me feel quite good when I see other businesses Facebook groups with only a few hundred likes, and then check EastCoastAirsoft and see we’ve already broken the 1,000 mark by a quite handsome margin. In fact, we’re almost at 2,000 likes, which will be a truly awesome milestone! If you haven’t liked the EastCoastAirsoft Facebook page yet, click the preceding link to check out all the cool stuff that’s been going on, and help us reach our goal of 2,000 likes by February 15th!

EastCoastAirsoft is based in Maryland, with the owners having a special relationship with Baltimore. It was very unfortunate today to see the Ravens lose, but I respect the effort of the Patriots and all their fans. I’m sure it will be a great Superbowl no matter what, but it really would’ve been nice if the Ravens were in it!

Anybody who used the Internet today knows that many sites, including Wikipedia, were “blacked out”. This is in protest of SOPA and PIPA, two bills that are going through the House and Senate, respectively. These bills would effectively limit free speech on the Internet and give unprecedented power to copyright holders to shut down entire websites. In addition, the legislation would likely not even be effective in reducing the distribution of pirated content, and even if it were, it’s not worth it. One of the provisions calls for a DNS filtering system that is technically identical to the one used by China. That’s how bad this is, and thankfully some of the most well known companies in the world have come out in opposition to SOPA.

This may be a bit overdue, but I would like to say how awesome it is that 2012 has finally arrived, and it is going to be an absolutely incredible year. Now is the time for all of us to set a goal of achieving our full potential, in both airsoft and life. When you are a stronger person, airsoft is a much more fun sport to play, because you are capable of performing actions that you simply cannot otherwise. This includes being able to move around more quickly and for longer periods at a time, as well as climb up to new physical positions. Work hard every day, and you’ll be successful for sure!

Christmas has come and gone, and it was definitely a great Christmas indeed. There was a lot of fun and cheer to be spread between people, and while I personally did not do anything too exciting, I’m sure the faithful readers of the EastCoastAirsoft blog were living it up. Christmas is good, but the real prize to be had is New Year’s Eve, when everything from this year is discarded and we are able to begin afresh.

It has been a great Christmas for us here at EastCoastAirsoft. While it hasn’t been a white Christmas yet, it certainly has been a green and black Christmas, with the green flowing in for us and the sleek black airsoft rifles and pistols flowing out. A lot of people are going to be very happy this holiday season, and I’m really excited to see where the New Year will take us. Thanks to all our loyal customers who make all this joyful commerce possible!

This may not mean much to anybody else, but 12/12 is a special day for me. The room 1212 is where I essentially lived last year and there were many great times in it, including work I did for EastCoastAirsoft. That is where the relevance really comes in, but other than that, it was just a great place to be. Even though the meaning may not be as strong for you, I bet this day will be extra good for you!
