Anybody who used the Internet today knows that many sites, including Wikipedia, were “blacked out”.  This is in protest of SOPA and PIPA, two bills that are going through the House and Senate, respectively.  These bills would effectively limit free speech on the Internet and give unprecedented power to copyright holders to shut down entire websites.  In addition, the legislation would likely not even be effective in reducing the distribution of pirated content, and even if it were, it’s not worth it.  One of the provisions calls for a DNS filtering system that is technically identical to the one used by China.  That’s how bad this is, and thankfully some of the most well known companies in the world have come out in opposition to SOPA.

This may be a bit overdue, but I would like to say how awesome it is that 2012 has finally arrived, and it is going to be an absolutely incredible year.  Now is the time for all of us to set a goal of achieving our full potential, in both airsoft and life.  When you are a stronger person, airsoft is a much more fun sport to play, because you are capable of performing actions that you simply cannot otherwise.  This includes being able to move around more quickly and for longer periods at a time, as well as climb up to new physical positions.  Work hard every day, and you’ll be successful for sure!

Christmas has come and gone, and it was definitely a great Christmas indeed.  There was a lot of fun and cheer to be spread between people, and while I personally did not do anything too exciting, I’m sure the faithful readers of the EastCoastAirsoft blog were living it up.   Christmas is good, but the real prize to be had is New Year’s Eve, when everything from this year is discarded and we are able to begin afresh.

It has been a great Christmas for us here at EastCoastAirsoft.  While it hasn’t been a white Christmas yet, it certainly has been a green and black Christmas, with the green flowing in for us and the sleek black airsoft rifles and pistols flowing out.  A lot of people are going to be very happy this holiday season, and I’m really excited to see where the New Year will take us.  Thanks to all our loyal customers who make all this joyful commerce possible!

This may not mean much to anybody else, but 12/12 is a special day for me.  The room 1212 is where I essentially lived last year and there were many great times in it, including work I did for EastCoastAirsoft.  That is where the relevance really comes in, but other than that, it was just a great place to be.  Even though the meaning may not be as strong for you, I bet this day will be extra good for you!

There’s no better time to join the EastCoastAirsoft Facebook group for the holidays!  With membership at a record high of 1,619 people, and lots of exciting holiday stuff to come, this is the time when you should join.  It’s not hard at all and you can become a part of EastCoastAirsoft very easily by joining the Facebook page.  I can tell you from experience that it is a pretty exciting place to be, and it is actually quite remarkable how humorous the comments are.  It’s all worth it just for that!

This time of the year is always the most exciting for me, for many reasons.  First off, the spirit that everyone carries is strong and optimistic, which is fantastic.  It’s also a time when lots of gifts are given, resulting in higher-than-average sales for the retail industry, including us.  By purchasing from EastCoastAirsoft, you support our livelihoods and we provide you with the best quality airsoft products in the world.  I must stress again that if you have not checked out any of our Polar Star Airsoft products, you gotta do it!  They are awesome.  And have a great holiday season, of which I’ll be posting about a lot this month.

The end of the month was pretty crazy, but it has now come to be relatively peaceful.  The most holidious month of them all, December, is about to begin, and with it comes Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and a ton of holiday-themed movies on every TV channel you can think of.  To celebrate, we here at EastCoastAirsoft will be doing some special things and we would love to hear from you about good ideas to make this Christmas the best one yet.  Can’t wait!

This is the day we wait for all year round, and by we, I mean faceless small businessmen who toil away to bring you the best products, service, and quality with no expectations of having the favor returned, although I suppose the thousands of dollars customers pay make it worth the effort to some extent.
