ICS Airsoft Rifles

It is pretty ridiculous how sleek ICS rifles look.  Although Classic Army is thought to be the leader in airsoft rifles, ICS is a company that can viably compete with them.  In fact, many of their products are more expensive than CA, although their effectiveness is around the same.  If you have never looked through our selection of these products before, you are missing out.  You should at least check it out, even if you do not plan on buying any of them!

Airsoft Rifles Are Our Focus

In case you have not noticed, our focus here at EastCoastAirsoft is on airsoft rifles.  That is why in our catalog, we have an extensive selection of variant airsoft rifles, from AK-47s to G36s.  No matter what kind of rifle you are interested in, I guarantee that we have it here.  So take a second to browse around, as we have a lot to offer, and there is surely something we stock that will meet your specific needs.

Barrel Extensions

One easy way to improve the accuracy of your airsoft guns is to add barrel extensions.  I’ve never personally used one for airsoft, but when I got a longer barrel with my paintball gun, the accuracy skyrocketed.  While the physics of airsoft and paintball is somewhat different, there are still a lot of similarities, and having a barrel of a fair length is still important.

If any of your guns are compatible with the barrel extensions we carry, I would suggest picking one up.  Some products cannot use these accessories, but there are definitely more that do (as long as you don’t count airsoft pistols and shotguns, of course. In other words, just airsoft rifles).

G&G Series EGM-014-SOC

G&G products are becoming increasingly popular, and that is why I would like to review this particular G&G airsoft rifle.  The EGM-104-SOC is made primarily of ABS plastic, weighs 3.8 kilograms, and comes with an extra high-capacity magazine that can hold over 450 rounds.  In addition to this, it fires at over 300FPS, which is the standard rate for airsoft rifles of this caliber.

It is important to note that only .20g pellets should be used in this product, because when you use ones of a lesser weight, it can disrupt some of the internal components.  That is why you should play it safe and use the recommended weight, because in addition to being better for the gun, .20g BBs deliver more accurate shots.

Full Metal vs. ABS Plastic

Many airsoft rifles are distinguished between being full metal or being composed of ABS plastic.  It is clear to most people that having a metal airsoft gun is better, because such products are usually more powerful and obviously can withstand more damage.  However, it is important not to downplay the significance of ABS.  It is one of the strongest plastics out there, and while it may not be as sturdy as metal, it still has a lot of strength on an absolute scale.

If you can get a metal airsoft rifle, I would suggest that you go for that.  They cost more than plastic guns, so price can get in the way for some people.  In the case that you need to get an ABS gun for budgeting reasons, you shouldn’t feel bad at all.  In airsoft, what it really comes down to is skill, so even if an opponent’s gun is a little better than yours, as long as you have a higher skill level, you will definitely come out on top.

Classic Army Rifles

As you may know, EastCoastAirsoft carries many Classic Army products.  The most interesting thing about Classic Army is that it is arguably the best airsoft brand out there.  They make the most durable, reliable products, that operate effectively and efficiently even years after you buy them.  Most CA guns cost around three hundred dollars, but some of them are less expensive, and even fewer are more expensive.

If you are going to purchase something from Classic Army, I would recommend one of the products in the three-hundred range.  This is not because I am a proprietor of this website and want to make more money, but because these products are truly better, and for just a few more dollars, you can get a lot more quality.  And when you will be using something for so many years, that extra quality really counts.  Makes sense, doesn’t it?

M14 Variants

Here at EastCoastAirsoft we stock a wide line of M14 Variants that are available for purchase.  M14s are classic rifles that were used a lot during Vietnam, although in 1970 they started to fall out of line once the M16 was introduced.  Admittedly, that is a much better rifle, which is why I stressed the “classic” earlier.  If you want something for historical purposes, this is the gun for you.

However, that is not to say the M14 is not effective in airsoft.  Since airsoft guns are different than real guns (makes sense), even though a real life counterpart might be better, they could be equal on airsoft grounds.  There are some M16 replicas that are not as good as M14s, but since Classic Army makes the majority of M16s on the market, they are better than M14s simply because of the brand they are coming from.

How Much to Pay for an Airsoft Rifle

If you are in the market for a new airsoft rifle, one of the pertinent questions that is going to arise is how much you should pay.  In short, you should pay whatever the price is listed as on this website, ha ha… But seriously, we do not take it offensively if you want to shop around.  That is what a smart consumer should do, and although we have great prices on hundreds of products, we can’t possibly beat our competitors on everything.

By checking a variety of airsoft retailers, you will eventually land on one that has a lower price than another.  There are some exceptions to this rule, however.  Some products, like Classic Army rifles, have a minimum price that retailers can charge for the products, as this eliminates all kinds of price differentiation marketing.  At EastCoastAirsoft, all products that have a minimum advertised price (MAP), we charge at that price.  Therefore, you will never find a site that charges a lower price, and if you do, then they are not playing by the rules, and they could lose their contract with the company.

Also, keep in mind that some of what goes into price covers other expenses of the company.  If you pay more for an item, you are probably going to get it faster and with better customer service.  Because of our company size, we can afford to charge lower prices while delivering superb service, so you do not have to settle for anything.

What Kind of Variant Airsoft Rifle to Get

Here at EastCoastAirsoft, we carry many different variant airsoft rifles.  Rifles can be distinguished based on their type or what they are modeled after (the variant).  For example, there are AK Variants, M16 Variants, AUG Variants, etc.  That is only a few of the options that you have to choose from, and there are definitely several other examples that come to mind when thinking about the numbers of variants out there.

So if you want to figure out what kind of variant you should get, you should look through them all.  Most variants are of roughly the same caliber, meaning that they can all perform almost equally well.  The only exception would be the M16 variants, which are usually much stronger than other types because a lot of them come from Classic Army.  Other than those, most of the remaining ones are about the same when it comes to performance.

Therefore, the most important factor is appearance.  You probably can think of a lot of people who like the looks of an AK-47, and thus would want that kind of airsoft rifle.  While this is a popular choice, it is dwarfed when you look at all the people who choose other variants, including MP5s and G36s.

Airsoft Rifles vs. Airsoft Pistols

It is best to have an airsoft rifle and pistol if you are an avid player of airsoft, but what if you can only get one, due to financial or space constraints? A rifle is not always better than a pistol; in some cases, the latter may be a better fit for your needs. It all depends on how and where you want to use the product. Continue Reading
